Golden Retrievers and Chocolate Labs

Golden Retrievers:

Our presentation is on the differences and similiarities of Chocolate Labrador Retrievers and Golden Retrievers.
Golden Retrievers are 23 to 24 inches at the shoulders and usually weigh between 65 to 75 pounds. Their life span is 10 to 12 years. Golden Retrievers are bred for hunting ducks and other small animals. Golden Retrievers are very intelligent. Golden Retrievers were developed in Scotland. Golden Retrievers are a cross between a male yellow-colored Retriever and a female Tweed Water Spaniel. Golden Retrievers like to retrieve from water. A Golden Retriever needs a lot of exercise to keep its body in shape. A Golden Retriever won the first trial championship. Golden Retrievers are very kind to livestock, other dogs and cats.

Chocolate Labs:

Chocolate Labs are a little smaller than Golden Retrievers. They are 20 to 24 inches at the shoulder and weigh 55 to 75 pounds. Chocolate Labs also have a life span of 10 to 12 years. Chocolate Labs are also hunting dogs and are used as guide dogs for the blind and police dogs. The Labrador Retriever is the most popular breed in the United States according to the American Kennel Club. Labrador Retrievers are originally from Newfoundland. There is no difference between a yellow, black or chocolate lab except for the color of their fur. Chocolate Labs also like to retrieve from water and they have water repellent fur. Labs need exercise a couple times a week. Labs are good with people and other dogs.

Erin has a Golden Retriever that is very cute and loveable. Her dog's name is Roscoe. His favorite game is fetch. Erin thinks that Golden Retrievers are the best dogs in the world. Victoria has a chocolate lab. They have fun riding on the golf cart. Her dog loves to play with his ball and play fetch with Victoria.
